Rajah & Tann Singapore ranks #27 among global restructuring and insolvency practices at GRR Awards

Rajah & Tann Singapore has been ranked #27 among the leading cross-border restructuring and insolvency practices in the world. The firm was also shortlisted as one of the nominees for an accolade for a recent case that led to a landmark decision by a UK court to recognise Singapore’s new moratorium law for bankrupt companies.

This is the second time that Rajah & Tann Singapore has made it to the top 30 list by Global Restructuring Review (GRR), a leading UK-based information service website providing cross-border restructuring and insolvency news. GRR awards are often seen as the Oscars for legal practitioners in insolvency laws.

Rajah & Tann Singapore was selected based on its track record, value of current cross-border restructuring and insolvency cases and the number of such active matters handled in the last two years.

At the 3rd Annual GRR Awards Ceremony held in Barcelona over the weekend, Rajah & Tann Singapore was nominated for the “Most important Cross-Border Recognition Decision” award for its role in a case involving H&C S Holdings Pte Ltd. The High Court of Justice Business and Property Courts of England and Wales on 25 March 2019 recognised the moratorium relief granted by the Singapore court to H&C S Holdings under Section 211B(1) of the Companies Act (Cap.50).

Patrick Ang, Managing Partner of Rajah & Tann Singapore, said: “Rajah & Tann is very honoured to once again be ranked among the top 30 leading restructuring and insolvency practices globally.

“We are grateful for the opportunities and support that our clients have given us, and this latest accolade demonstrates the depth of our expertise and the scope of our coverage in Southeast Asia. These achievements would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of my partners and colleagues.”
