Progressive Workplace Practices drive the performance of Rajah & Tann Singapore

Singapore Health Award 2017

On 10 October 2017, Rajah & Tann Singapore received the Singapore Health Award (Merit) at the biennial Singapore Health Award, organised by the Health Promotion Board. The Merit Award is one of the top three award categories that collectively recognises 74 of the best organisations in Singapore with commendable Workplace Health Promotion programmes. Highlights of the firm’s health programmes include talks, workshops, health screening, mental wellness campaign, exercise classes, fruit and milk day. Launched in 1999, the Singapore HEALTH (Helping Employees Achieve Life-Time Health) Award recognises individuals and firms that promote healthy living at the workplace. Rajah & Tann Singapore has been recognised several times, receiving awards in the Bronze, Silver and Gold categories. It is the only law firm to have been named at this year’s enhanced award structure.

TAFEP Human Capital Partnership 2017

On the same day, Rajah & Tann Singapore also received the “Human Capital Partnership” (HCP) mark from Minister of Manpower, Mr Lim Swee Say. The HCP mark recognises continuous commitment by organisations that adopt forward looking employment practices as a key tool in providing competitive edge and growing businesses. Rajah & Tann Singapore joins the ranks of 130 Human Capital Partners who cumulatively employ about 130,000 locals, representing over 5% of Singapore’s total local workforce. The HCP Programme is jointly put together by Manpower Ministry, Tripartite Alliance for Fair & Progressive Employment Practices, National Trades Union Congress and Singapore National Employers Federation. In addition to the HCP mark, the firm has also been named as “Employer of Choice” thrice by Asian Legal Business, a leading monthly legal magazine. Deputy Managing Partner, Rebecca Chew, said: “This is an endorsement of Rajah & Tann’s drive to compete in the marketplace and to promote progressive workplace practices. I would like to thank the lawyers and staff who have contributed to our current standing. I look forward to our continued efforts in cementing Rajah & Tann as the choice employer.”
