Rajah & Tann Singapore voted Singapore’s leading firm by Who’s Who Legal, Patrick Ang voted Lawyer of the year
Rajah & Tann Singapore has been voted Singapore’s leading firm by Who’s Who Legal, and Managing Partner Patrick Ang named Lawyer of the Year for restructuring and insolvency.
Who’s Who Legal publishes one of the world’s leading directories of legal practitioners and non-lawyer consulting experts. Its 2020 Awards is part of an annual tradition dating to 2005 which commends individuals and firms across each of its featured 35 practice areas and industries. The awards for exceptional performance are given out after in-depth assessment, research and findings. The national awards are for leading firms in over 70 major jurisdictions around the world.
Commenting on the awards, Mr Ang said: “Rajah & Tann and I are honoured to receive these awards, and I am particularly humbled by the recognition from such an esteemed publication. We owe our success and achievements to our client for their unstinting support through the years and the opportunities they have given to us to serve them.
“The awards belong to our entire team of very professional lawyers whose hard work and dedication have enabled us to deliver consistently high standards of service.”
Mr Ang took over the helm at Rajah & Tann Singapore last year and has won accolades from other prestigious publications such as Chambers Global, IFLR1000 and The Legal 500. In 2018, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, making him the first Singaporean and the fourth lawyer from Asia to be admitted to the august institution for leading bankruptcy and insolvency practitioners globally.
The latest awards capped a year of high achievements for the firm. In August this year, Rajah & Tann also bagged the biggest prize - Asia-Pacific Firm of the Year - at the third annual Asialaw Awards, while Rajah & Tann Asia amassed eight awards and Assegaf Hamzah & Partners, a member of Rajah & Tann Asia’s network, won the award for Indonesia Firm of the Year.
The firm was also named Singapore Firm of the Year and Commercial & Transactions Firm of the Year at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards 2020. Earlier in the year, Rajah & Tann Asia landed the Financial Times’ Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers 2020 award for its RTA DNA project, a massive undertaking to align baseline IT standards and support across its regional network.
