Rajah & Tann Singapore Maintains A Steady Hand in SGX’s Listings Appeals Committee

Rajah & Tann Singapore is pleased to announce that Francis Xavier, SC, Regional Head of the firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice, has been appointed Chairman of Singapore Exchange’s (“SGX”) Listing Appeals Committee (“LApC”), one of the three newly-set up independent Listings Committees of SGX.

Hamidul Haq, Head of the firm’s White-Collar Crime Practice, will continue as one of the deputy chairmen of the Listings Disciplinary Committee (“LDC” - now known as the SGX Disciplinary Committee) . The LDC and the LApC will hear and determine charges and appeals for cases involving more serious breaches of directors and executive officers of listed companies.  The establishment of the LDC, the LApC and the Listings Advisory Committee is aimed at strengthening SGX’s listing policy-making and review process, and enhance how Listing Rules are enforced. The three independent Listings Committees will be in place by 7 October 2015.
