Post-Election Myanmar: Navigating Change, Seizing Opportunities

On 24 June 2026, Rajah & Tann Asia organised a seminar titled “Post-Election Myanmar: Navigating Change, Seizing Opportunities” in Bangkok, Thailand.

Myanmar stands at a pivotal crossroads following the landmark December 2025 and January 2026 elections, with significant legal, regulatory and commercial shifts expected to bring both opportunities and challenges for businesses and investors across the region. At the seminar, the speakers shared insights on the practical implications of the electoral outcome, emerging regulatory and policy developments, the outlook for foreign investment and commercial activity in Myanmar, and the strategic steps businesses should consider taking now. With Thailand serving as a critical hub for Myanmar-linked business and investment, the session also highlighted key developments in Thailand’s foreign direct investment regime.

The speakers were Partners Chester Toh, Lester Chua and Khine Khine Zin from Rajah & Tann Myanmar and Rajah & Tann Singapore, and Supawat Srirungruang, Melisa Uremovic and Nattarat Boonyatap from Rajah & Tann (Thailand).
