Leading with Responsibility. Acting for Tomorrow

At Rajah & Tann Singapore, we recognise that we are part of a broader ecosystem of change. Advancing meaningful and robust climate action that contributes to a safe and healthy living environment requires collective commitment, and we are dedicated to collaborating with our people, clients and communities to promote best practices that contribute to a more sustainable future.

Our Climate Baseline

Our firm established 2023 as our baseline year for setting near-term targets to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, laying the foundation for transparent tracking and meaningful climate action.

We do not have Scope 1 GHG emissions. We track our Scope 2 and 3 emissions annually, continuously refining our strategies to reduce emissions.

Managing Scope 2 Emissions Through Energy Optimisation and Emission Reduction

Our energy optimisation efforts are driven by infrastructural innovation and efficient practices. Operating out of Marina One, a LEED Platinum and BCA Green Mark Platinum certified building, this has given us an energy efficiency advantage. To reinforce our energy conservation, we retrofit our premises with energy-efficient LED lighting, auto-timer light switches and smart cooling systems. Through our landlord, renewable energy certificates are availed to our energy consumption at Marina One from the year 2024. We aim to continue securing renewable energy with an expectation that by 2030, our absolute Scope 2 emissions will be at 50% from a 2023 baseline.

Managing Scope 3 Emissions Through Responsible Travel and Sustainable Procurement

We are cutting carbon emissions beyond our borders by prioritising essential business travel, leveraging remote communication tools and virtual meetings whenever possible. Where travel is unavoidable, we seek to maximise its purpose. We are working towards a procurement framework to harness sustainable practices and longer-term cooperation with our key suppliers.

COLLEAGUES

Making Sustainability a Workplace Culture

We champion green office practices by reducing paper use, adopting FSC-certified materials, and enabling secure recycling.

We encourage low-waste habits through reusable utensils at events and foster employee climate action through initiatives like coastal clean-ups, tree planting, and eco-education workshops.

Aligned with global environmental movements such as Earth Hour and World Environment Day, we turn awareness into collective action – building a more sustainable workplace and workforce, every day.
