In 2022, the Ministry of Health (“MOH“) and Health Promotion Board (HPB) introduced a system of Nutri-Grade measures which imposed mandatory nutrition labels and advertising prohibitions for beverages in pre-packaged form and from automated beverage dispensers. This was extended in 2023 to include freshly prepared beverages for sale in specified settings in Singapore.
MOH has announced further extensions of the Nutri-Grade measures to cover key sources of sodium and saturated fat intake, which will come into force from mid-2027. This Update provides an overview of the key updates and their implications for businesses.
