On 3 June 2026, Rajah & Tann Asia hosted a seminar titled “Managing Data Protection and Cybersecurity Risks in Corporate Transactions”.
This seminar provided a comprehensive overview of how data protection and cybersecurity considerations have become increasingly central to corporate transactions, particularly in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The speakers examined how organisations can identify, assess, and manage data-related risks across the transaction lifecycle. Discussions covered key areas including legal due diligence, risk allocation in transaction documentation, data governance frameworks, and post-completion integration and compliance, with a focus on practical strategies for navigating increasingly complex regulatory and technological landscapes.
The speakers were Partner Zacky Husein and Senior Associate Muhammad Ali Pasha from Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (“AHP“), and Partners Steve Tan and Debbie Woo from Rajah & Tann Singapore (“RTS“). AHP Co-Founder and Managing Partner Ahmad Fikri Assegaf gave the Opening Remarks, while RTS Partner Rajesh Sreenivasan (Head, Technology, Media & Telecommunications) delivered the Keynote Address.
