On 19 August 2025, Lex Mundi and Rajah & Tann Singapore co-organised the 2025 Asia-Pacific Cross-Border Transactions Practice Group Meeting. The event brought together leading transactional lawyers from Lex Mundi member firms in Asia, the Middle East and Europe, to explore the evolving landscape of cross-border dealmaking.
Partner Chia Kim Huat, Regional Head of the Corporate & Transactional Group, delivered the opening remarks and introduction. This was followed by four panel sessions:
- Structuring Deals with Gulf Counterparties: Exploring the United Arab Emirate’s investment landscape, trends and practical tips for working with Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds and family offices;
- Inside Intra-Asia Dealmaking: Reviewing case studies and regulatory strategies powering regional transactions;
- PE Deals in an Age of Caution: Discussing how private equity firms are navigating uncertainty; and
- Advising Cross-Border Tech Clients: Covering legal and strategic issues from artificial intelligence (AI) to data compliance.
Speakers and moderators comprised Partners Abdul Jabbar (Corporate & Commercial), Tracy Ang (Deputy Head, Corporate & Transactional Group; Head, Mergers & Acquisitions), and Angela Lim (Co-Head, Banking & Finance), and Raymund Lum (Group CEO, Rajah & Tann Technologies).
Managing Partner Ng Kim Beng delivered the Closing Remarks.
