On 19 August 2025, Rajah & Tann held its LearningBytes seminar series for the month, titled “Cybersecurity & Data Protection for SGX ListCos: Boardroom Accountability & Business Resilience in Managing Risks”.
In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, cyber incidents and data breaches have the potential to undermine shareholder confidence, trigger regulatory attention, and cause substantial financial loss. The stakes are higher for companies listed on the SGX. Boards are now expected to demonstrate proactive oversight, ensure robust data protection measures are in place, and uphold operational resilience.
Given this, cybersecurity and data protection have become boardroom priorities – not just an information technology (IT) issue – with far-reaching implications on regulatory compliance, investor trust, and the long-term resilience of an organisation. The speakers clarified the latest regulatory expectations under the SGX listing rules, provided actionable strategies for incorporating cyber and data privacy risks into an organisation’s risk management framework, and shared best practices for strong oversight and management of cyber and data risks.
The speakers were Partners Steve Tan, Deputy Head of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice and Cynthia Goh from the Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.
