Edwin has wide-ranging experience in high-value commercial litigation and international arbitration matters.

His practice regularly involves cross-border disputes with complex factual and legal issues, He has particular experience in acting for foreign governments and state-owned entities in arbitrations and arbitration-related court proceedings.

Edwin has advised and acted in a broad variety of disputes including claims involving fraud, corruption, joint venture and restraint of trade. Edwin also has broad experience of disputes in the hospitality and gaming sectors.

Edwin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

  • Acting for a Southeast Asian government ministry in arbitration-related court proceedings involving complex issues of fraud and government procurement.
  • Acting for a South Asian government in a SIAC arbitration involving a US$125m claim over a joint venture, with intertwined issues of fraud and corruption. Related proceedings: CLQ v CLR [2022] 3 SLR 145
  • Acting for Southeast Asian parties in an ICC arbitration involving a US$300m claim on breaches of a joint venture agreement in the gaming sector.
  • Acting for the wholly owned entity of a South Asian government in a SIAC arbitration involving a US$120 m claim over a concession agreement related to the hospitality sector.
  • Acted for an ASX-listed company and its subsidiaries in the Singapore International Commercial Court for a US$150m claim involving a novel low-rank coal upgrading technology: BCBC Singapore Pte Ltd v PT Bayan Resources TBK [2023] 4 SLR 1
  • Acted for Laotian parties in a successful application to resist enforcement of a SIAC arbitration award in excess of US$200m: ST Group Co Ltd v Sanum Investments Ltd [2020] 1 SLR 1
  • Acted for an ASX-listed company and its subsidiaries in a SIAC arbitration involving a US$190m claim for breaches of sale and purchase, and management agreements for a large casino in Cambodia. Related proceedings: BXY v BXX [2019] 4 SLR 413
