Acting for an individual and related Singapore-based and Myanmar-based entities, all of whom are involved in the trading of hydrocarbon products, in various disputes with another oil trading group relating to the breakdown of a joint venture in Myanmar, which was set up to import and trade hydrocarbon products in Myanmar. The complexity and scale of this matter arises from the fact that there are various arbitration and court proceedings in Singapore and Myanmar, many of which had a bearing on another. We successfully assisted the clients in negotiating a global settlement involving 17 parties and across 11 disputes.
