Avoiding Import, Export and Other Trade Violations: A Focus on and a Guide for Freight Forwarders

On 23 May 2024, Rajah & Tann organised a seminar titled “Avoiding Import, Export and Other Trade Violations: A Focus on and a Guide for Freight Forwarders”.

The speakers discussed trade issues relevant to freight forwarders. Tackling the complexities of international shipping and customs compliance, they noted that freight forwarders played an important role in the supply chain and could act as effective guardians. They talked about the challenges of navigating the changing landscape of trade laws, with a special focus on Singapore. They also provided insight on how to avoid legal non-compliance, handle export controls, and rectify errors using the voluntary disclosure program.

The speakers were Kala Anandarajah, BBM, Head of the Competition & Antitrust and Trade Practice, and Tanya Tang, Joshua Seet and Alvin Tan from the same Practice.
